Chelsea Part Ways with Mauricio Pochettino

Mauricio Pochettino has left Chelsea by mutual consent after less than 11 months in charge.

The former Tottenham boss led the Blues to the Champions League semi-finals and a third-place finish in the Premier League in his first season at Stamford Bridge. However, Chelsea have struggled for form since the turn of the year and have won just one of their last five matches.

Pochettino's departure comes as a surprise, as he was appointed by Chelsea last May after a lengthy recruitment process. The Argentine was seen as the ideal man to replace Frank Lampard, who was sacked in January 2023.

However, Pochettino has failed to live up to expectations at Chelsea. The Blues have been inconsistent throughout the season and have been knocked out of both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

Pochettino's departure is likely to lead to speculation about who will replace him at Chelsea. A number of managers have been linked with the job, including former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp and current Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.
