Early Life and Career

Brandon Tate Nimmo was born on March 27, 1993, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He played baseball and football at Cheyenne East High School and was named the state's Gatorade Player of the Year in both sports as a senior. After graduating high school, Nimmo attended the University of Arkansas, where he played outfield and hit .302 with 23 home runs and 101 RBIs in his three seasons. He was drafted by the New York Mets with the 13th overall pick in the 2011 MLB Draft.
