New Number Two of Norway's Christian Democrats Blames Poor Results on "Secularization"

Ida Lindtveit Røse

Ida Lindtveit Røse is the newly appointed second deputy leader of Norway's Christian Democrats. The party suffered heavy losses in the recent election, winning just 3.8% of the vote and losing all of its seats in parliament.

Røse blames the party's poor performance on "secularization" and a lack of focus on traditional Christian values.

"Tough Election"

In an interview with Vårt Land, Røse said that the election was "tough" for the Christian Democrats.

"We didn't manage to get our message across to the voters," she said.

Røse said that the party needs to do a better job of communicating its message and connecting with voters.

Focus on Christian Values

Røse said that the party needs to focus more on traditional Christian values, such as the importance of family and community.

"We need to remind people of the values that have made Norway a great country," she said.

Røse said that the party also needs to do a better job of reaching out to young people.

Leadership Change

The Christian Democrats have been in a state of turmoil since the election. The party's leader, Kjell Ingolf Ropstad, resigned in October after it was revealed that he had used government funds to buy an apartment for his family.

Røse is one of several new leaders who have been appointed to try to rebuild the party.
